Cheng - Hong Cho, Ph.D., Chairman

Dr. Cho is the chairman and co-founder of OleMap. Prior to founding the company, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering as well as the Deputy Director in the Division of Research and Development of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology.

During his academic career, he set up the NTUST Business Incubation Center, which has become one of the most successful hi-tech incubators in Taiwan. Dr. Cho also led many web-based GIS application research projects financially supported by private companies and agencies, such as National Science Council, Institute of Information Industry, and the Urban Development Department. Most of these projects focus on geographical information system, data mining, Internet applications, distributed systems, software reengineering, and multimedia databases. Dr. Cho also led a research team to develop the geo-technical engineering database system (GEDBS) - The first geographical information system developed in Taiwan without the use of off-shelf GIS packages.

Two years later, his research group developed the first general purpose Chinese GIS software, Sinoterra. This software was adopted by Taiwan Water Supply Corporation as the facility management platform.

 
Dr. Cho is a graduate of the National Taiwan University and received his PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.


Vincent Yu, Director
Vincent Yu is a Director at OleMap supervising the function of Spatial Information Service Unit (SIS). The SIS unit is responsible for integrated management of geographic information, providing feasible solutions to its clients. Mr. Yu joined OleMap in 2001. Prior to joining OleMap, Mr. Yu spent nine years working at various leading engineering firms based in Taiwan.

Mr. Yu has participated and evaluated many GIS related projects within the public and enterprise sector. Mr. Yu has extensive experience in providing GIS planning and solutions to the public sector. Such projects consist of environment and natural resources management, urban and regional planning. On the enterprise level, Mr. Yu oversees projects, which provides wireless and location related solutions tailored to different business geo-demographic specifications. His area of expertise consists of geo-engineering, GIS analysis, and geoinfomatics.

 
Mr. Yu is a Civil Engineering graduate from National Chiao Tung University and received his MS degree in Civil Engineering from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan.
